Dazey asked: Hi. I just want to be clear on something. I don’t smoke and I am not an alcoholic however, every 2 days or so I would like to drink a glass or 2 of wine when I am in a restaurant. When should alcohol be stopped altogether? And travel (in a car and plane). I heard if someone is pregnant, for the first 3 months it is crucial to stop travel and any type of alcohol intake. When does this 3 month start? Does it start when you ovulate (during conception) and then wait for the mystery, in this case it looks like you can only drink 2 weeks before ovulating all the time! Or, does it start once you know you can be pregnant with a test that proves it? I have heard both theories I would just like a confirmation. Thank you!

jojowasamanwho asked: A winery has a business-cycle that may span 3 or 4 fiscal years, beginning with the harvest, and ending with trucking bottles to distributers. When it spends money to harvest, the credit is obviously cash, but should the debit be on expense, cost of inventory (e.i. a current asset), or investment?? On the one hand it sounds a little like expense since it’s something the winery does all the time. But wouldn’t treating it that way run afoul of the matching principle. And likewise, how can it be a debit to cost of inventory, since inventory is a current asset, and the harvest won’t be processed within the time frame that defines current assets, e.i. , assets that will be sold within 1 year. Therefore would the cost of the grape harvest have to be journalized as a debit to a long-term asset (investment), and a credit to cash? Experts only please. If you’re just guessing like me, pass please.

lisa425lisa asked: I just bought a 2004 Novelty Hill Merlot from Columbia Valley.
~harmonious blend of black cherry, raspberry, and mocha flavors comebined with undercurrent of inviting oak.~
I searched their web site wanting to learn more about it, but they only have different wines. Either Merlots from different years, or from a different grape valley. How come? Is my wine rare? How come the one I bought isn’t on there?

lg asked: I will be in Paso Robles July 4-8. I hear Meridian as well as Robert Hall have events at night to watch fireworks. Which is better? Are there other places (or wineries) to watch from? Any wineries in general that we have to try? Restaurants? Thanks.

jarjoneslmk asked: I’m looking to go sometime in the next year. Flights look cheapest in January, but will it be too cold to enjoy wine country (Bordeaux)? What are the cold temperatures in France? I’m currently fairly open on travel time and am looking for the best combination of inexpensive without being so off-season that it’s no fun, but some places are shut down off-season and some are kind of wonderful because you get no crowds and people are happy that you’re there when they have no business. We’re also looking to visit Paris. Any issues with January there?
